Labour CND

A Labour Party email is arriving in your inbox about now with an invitation to vote for candidates in the CLP section of the National Executive Committee elections. All paid up members are entitled to vote in this ballot. Labour CND dsupports Jess Barnard, Gemma Bolton and Yasmine Dar, the three candidates with a track record of speakig out for peace and nuclear disarmament. Below, Campaign for Labour Party Democracy’s advises on how to cast you vote to maximise their chance of election in this single transferable vote ballot.
CAMPAIGN FOR LABOUR PARTY DEMOCRACY:
To help our new Leader Andy Burnham succeed, we must try to secure an NEC and policies that can repair the damage inflicted on the Party’s electoral standing by the Starmer leadership / Labour Together. NEC candidates committed to the reset of our Party are set out below.
Candidates to vote for in the NEC CLP Section election
A) Top 3 Preferences – 1st, 2nd & 3rd
CLPD believes the best candidates to help Labour succeed are these three, who are backed by the Centre-Left Grassroots Alliance (CLGA):
CLGA backed
Jess Barnard
Gemma Bolton
Yasmine Dar
To maximise the chance of success, it is vital that Party members cast their top 3 preferences (1st, 2nd & 3rd) in the recommended order. This is a Single Transferable Vote (STV) ballot, so the distribution of first preferences matters to maximise the impact of grassroots votes.
Please use this Voting Preference Tool here to find out the recommended order for the area you live in. Enter your postcode in the box and click on the button “GET YOUR PREFERENCE ORDER”. See below for the explanation why.
B) Next 3 Preferences – 4th, 5th & 6th
To maximise the overall number of candidates elected who back a reset to our Party, please use your 4th, 5th & 6th preferences on the Mainstream backed candidates who are:
Mainstream backed
Cat Arnold
Jovan Owusu-Nepaul
Kerry Postlewhite
C) Why cast your top 3 Preferences (1st, 2nd & 3rd ) using the Voting Preference Tool
Different preference orders for the first three preferences are being recommended for different geographical areas. Casting your vote following the recommended order of preferences for your area will help minimise the danger of any of the CLGA backed (Grassroots Voice Three) candidates being unnecessarily knocked out of the election at early stages of the STV count. Please use the Voting Preference Tool here, hosted on Momentum’s Grassroots Voice website. For your information, the national/regional recommended lists can be seen here.
