Report back from Labour’s 2026 annual conference
Labour CND

Labour conference-goers know there are a variety of report-backs on offer after every annual conference. As always, Labour CND focused on peace and international solidarity issues. But we decided to present them differently this year. As well as asking some Labour insiders to take us behind the scenes, we also invited campaigning organisations to comment on how their issues fared in Liverpool.
We were discussing PM Andy Burnham’s first conference, at a time when support for Labour has risen as a result of his becoing Labour leader. That certainly had a positive impact on the mood of conference. Hope, the 2026 conference theme, was certainly in the air, though you’ll be hearing some reservations and caveats from our speakers.
Bell Ribeiro-Addy MP took part, along with Rachel Garnham, chair of Campaign for Labour Party Democracy and a former NEC member, and Ben Folley from the Arise Team. They were joined by Dan Iley-Williamson PSC’s Political Organiser, Francisco Dominguez national secretary of Venezuela Solidadiry Campaign, Denis Fernando a senior rights and justice campaigner for Friends of the Earth, and CND Vice President Kate Hudson.
The result was 90 minutes of information and opinion packed discussion with the audience, moderated by Labour CND’s Carol Turner and Christine Shawcroft. You can watch the report-back below, or visit our YouTube channel and take a look at what else is on offer.
